Overview and Expectations

GDATP has purchasing units at Marion, Virginia; Lincoln, Nebraska; Charlotte, North Carolina; Williston, Vermont; Saco, Maine; and Camden, Arkansas

At GDATP, we know our success depends on the performance of and relationship with our suppliers. Our focus is on complete customer satisfaction. Therefore, the extent to which our suppliers comply with our technical, commercial and performance requirements is critical. Our objective is to develop long-term, strategic relationships with our suppliers based on trust, integrity, respect, communication and proven performance.

Communication

All communication must be conducted through your buyer. The buyer has total responsibility for the execution of the bid and/or placing of business. GDATP is committed to timely responsiveness, and we expect the same in return. When problems or delays affect a contractual ship date, suppliers are expected to contact the buyer to advise the nature of the problem and to propose a revised ship date.

What do we expect from our suppliers?

GDATP recognizes that market success depends on the technology, quality and cost-competiveness of our products, as well as our ability to meet deadlines. Consequently, we measure the effectiveness of our supply base by delivery, cost, quality, capability and responsiveness.

In order to support our business units by reducing cost and risk, the GDATP's Supply Chain Management team views appropriate supplier choices, continuous improvement and process/technology development as the backbone of a high-performing supply network. We recognize and value the capabilities, expertise and innovative technology that suppliers offer through their Research and Development efforts. Our desire is to develop long term business relationships with our suppliers for the mutual benefit of both parties.
