CHARLOTTE, N.C. – General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded the 2006 American Business Ethics Award (ABEA) in the mid-size business category. General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products’ President, Linda Hudson, received the crystal award today, along with Brian Kenney, director of Ethics, and Dawn Archer, former director of Ethics, at the award ceremony in Philadelphia, Pa.
“One of our Basic Beliefs at GDATP is that we insist upon ethical behavior. This principle provides a foundation for how we operate as a responsible business in the community,” said Linda Hudson, President, GDATP. “We are honored to receive the 2006 ABEA.”
General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products qualified for the national competition by winning the mid-size business category of the regional ABEA competition. The ABEA presents awards in three categories: large companies (over 2,500 employees), mid-size companies (250 – 2,500 employees) and small companies (fewer than 250 employees). All entries were evaluated by an independent panel of judges composed of individuals with expertise in business ethics, representing a variety of disciplines.
The ABEA honors U.S. companies that exemplify high standards of ethical behavior in their everyday business conduct and in response to specific crises or challenges. The award was established in 1994 by the Society of Financial Service Professionals.
