BURLINGTON, VT- General Dynamics Armament Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD), has been awarded a $126.4 million order for the production of HYDRA-70 combat and training rockets for the U.S. Army and training warheads for the U.S. Air Force. This order is part of a five-year contract with the U.S. Army's Industrial Operations Command (IOC) that was awarded General Dynamics Armament Systems in June 1999. Total contract value to date stands at $193.7 million against a maximum potential value of $1.2 billion over the five-year period. The IOC plans additional awards this fiscal year to support Navy and Air Force requirements as the services release funding. Contract deliveries against this order run from April 2001 through May 2002.
"This represents the largest single order ever booked for the HYDRA-70 program, and is a clear indication of the valuable role this weapon system plays in our armed forces," said Linda Hudson, President of General Dynamics Armament Systems.
