Medical/Dental/Vision Insurance

(For non-represented employees only. Please see local HR department for represented hourly employees’ Benefits Summary)

Medical
Employees can choose coverage for themselves and their eligible dependents through a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) or Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO) plan. Retail and mail order prescription drug coverage is available as part of the plans. The premium is paid on a before-tax basis.

Dental
A comprehensive dental plan is available for employees and their eligible dependents. The premium is paid on a before-tax basis.

Vision
Coverage is available for employees and their eligible dependents. The plan includes eye exams with a modest co-pay, and discount frame, lens and contact lens coverage. The premium is paid on a before-tax basis.

Life Insurance

(For non-represented employees only. Please see local HR department for represented hourly employees’ Benefits Summary)

Employee Basic Life coverage of one times annual base salary is provided at no cost. Employee Supplemental Life Coverage options are available as well (from one to eight times employee’s annual salary), with premiums paid on an after-tax basis. Spouse Life and Child Life coverage are also available at group rates.

AD&D Insurance

(For non-represented employees only. Please see local HR department for represented hourly employees’ Benefits Summary)

Employee Basic AD&D Coverage of one times annual base salary is provided at no cost. Employee Supplemental AD&D coverage options are available as well (from one to ten times annual base salary), with premiums paid on a before-tax basis. Spouse AD&D and Child AD&D coverage are also available at group rates.

Short-Term Disability (STD)

(For non-represented employees only. Please see local HR department for represented hourly employees’ Benefits Summary)

GDATP provides eligible employees with a Short-Term Disability (STD) Plan. The STD plan pays benefits only for approved absences related to the employees' own illness (e.g., the plan does not pay for benefits for absences related to dependents' illnesses) for up to 26 weeks.

Long-Term Disability (LTD)

(For non-represented employees only. Please see local HR department for represented hourly employees’ Benefits Summary)

When an employee cannot work for an extended period due to serious illness or injury, LTD coverage works with social security and other benefits to replace a percentage of the employee's pay. GDATP covers the full cost of LTD coverage at 50% of employee's monthly salary. LTD coverage may be purchased at a level of coverage equal to 60% of employee's monthly pay for an incremental amount. One must be totally disabled over a 26-week period to qualify for benefits.

Reimbursement Accounts

MedAccounts Employees may set aside up to $5,000 of before-tax pay to cover certain out-of-pocket medical, dental and vision expenses for themselves and their dependents.

CareAccounts Employees may set aside up to $5,000 of before-tax pay to cover certain day care expenses of eligible dependents.

Paid Holidays and Vacation

There are 12 company-paid holidays at all locations with the exception of Camden and Stone County Operations.

Savings and Stock Investment Plan (SSIP) with Match (401 k Plan)

The General Dynamics Savings and Stock Investment Plan (SSIP) is a 401K plan that lets employees save and invest money now to help meet some (if not all) financial needs during retirement. Employees of GDATP are immediately eligible to join the General Dynamics SSIP if they are paid through the salaried payroll system. The SSIP is a personal savings, investment and tax deferral plan to which employees may contribute 1 percent to 50 percent of base pay on a pre-tax and/or after-tax basis (up to a maximum of $15,500 for 2008). Any contributions made during the plan year will be matched 50 cents for each $1 contributed up to 7% of eligible pay. Employees are always 100% vested in their own contributions and any related earnings while employed at General Dynamics ATP. Employees become 100% vested in the company match if they have three years of vesting service. The SSIP offers withdrawal and loan features.

The Company also offers a Roth 401(k) savings plan. In addition to growing tax-free while in the GD SSIP, your Roth 401(k) contributions and the related earnings can be withdrawn tax-free after reach age 59 1/2.

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a confidential resource designed to provide clinical and non-clinical assistance to employees experiencing problems that may affect their general well-being or job performance. The EAP is intended to promote behavioral health, while respecting the individual's right to privacy. The EAP is a company-provided program offered to full and part time employees and their immediate family members at no cost. Employees are provided with free access to phone, online or in-person support for a variety of issues including financial planning, parenting and family concerns, managing stress, management skills, depression and legal advice.
