Our gun systems arm the majority of the front-line fighters in use by the U.S. and allies around the world.
Fixed Wing
A-10 30mm gun system
The GAU-8/A is a 30mm Gatling gun that is installed on the U.S. Air Force's A-10 Thunderbolt II aircraft and the Navy's Goalkeeper Close-In Weapon System. The GAU-8/A provides a reliable, high-rate-of-fire, combat-proven weapon for close air support and shipboard defense missions.
AV-8B 25mm gun system
The 25mm GAU-12/U is an externally powered Gatling gun adaptable for air, land and sea platforms. The gun system’s significant muzzle energy and combat lethality provide air-to-air, ground-to-air and air-to-ground firepower for the U.S. Marine Corps AV-8B Harrier II aircraft.
F-15E 20mm gun system
The F-15E fighter is armed with GDATP's M61A1 six-barrel, 20mm armament system for air superiority, ground attack and interdiction missions. The lightweight linear ammunition feed system provides high reliability and maximum round capacity for the aircraft’s allotted space envelope.
F-16 20mm gun system
The F-16 weapon system features the M61A1 six-barrel Gatling gun and a linkless ammunition feed system. The M61A1 provides up to 10 times the reliability of single-barrel guns, firing at 6,000 shots per minute and placing a controlled dispersion of projectiles in the path of the target.
F/A-18 20mm gun system
The F/A-18 fighter is armed with GDATP’s internally mounted 20mm M61A2 multi-barrel gun and a rotary linkless feed system. These dual-rate gun systems provide pilots flexible air-to-air and air-to-ground capabilities.
F-22A 20mm gun system
The F-22A fighter features the lightweight M61A2 20mm Gatling gun and a linear linkless ammunition feed system. The M61A2 provides up to 10 times the reliability of single-barrel guns, firing at 6,000 shots per minute and placing a controlled dispersion of projectiles in the path of the target.
F-35 25mm gun system
The GAU-22/A is a four-barrel 25mm Gatling gun developed for installation in the F-35 Lightning II fighter. GDATP developed an internal gun system for the F-35A and an external gun system for the F-35B and C variants.
Rotary Wing
AH-1W 20mm gun system
The Marine Corps and allied Cobra attack helicopters are armed with the M-197 three-barrel Gatling gun installed in a GDATP Universal Turret System. This combination provides the Cobra platform with versatile area suppression firepower.
OH-58D gun system
The GAU-19/B is effective in both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. The weapon provides highly effective firepower against area suppression and point targets, as well as being ideally suited for utility, scout and attack helicopters. With a rate of fire of 1,300 shots per minute, the GAU-19/B provides superior firepower in a lightweight system.
